In Search of Meaning

India

This was my first trip to India, in 1986. A classical search for enlightenment and a liberation from all the frustrations I did not want to cope with at my age of 20. It was six months of roaming around the place, staying in ashrams, checking out gurus and saints…

With a cheap point-and-shot camera, using it only occasionally… These scans are not the state of art, but if you have been to India, I bet some of it’s magic will come through.

  1. Hi,

I’d like to use one of your India photos on a gift card (the one with the boy and cow), which is to be printed and sold. The image will be manipulated and altered somewhat with text added overtop of the image. What permissions and/or payment do you require.

    Thanks very much.

  2. Ken – no problem. I don’t need any sort of payment, thanks, but would love to have a couple of gift cards sent to me, and my name/blog address appear somewhere as the author. Is that OK with you?

  3. Thanks Robert, I will cite you as the photo’s author. I can email you a pdf first so you can see it, though the card itself probably won’t be printed until a couple months from now. Can I somehow post a pdf on this site?

  4. Hey Robert,

I’ve always been fascinated by the fascination of westerners(tats a gross generalization) for my country, Looking through those various shades of glass abt a country which speak volumes of varieties..
